I'm Eric "Butter" Hurd. From Woodstock,Ga.USA and since August 2006, living,working,and training at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte,NC. I am a full time OLYMPIC development athlete for the U.S.A. in the sport of whitewater kayak slalom,competing internationally since the age of 12. In 2000, at the tender age of 13, I was the youngest American kayak to EVER compete in a U.S.OLYMPIC TEAM TRIALS! In my 11 years of competition, I have won multiple age class National Championships. Internationally as a 4 year US Junior Team regular, I had numerous "top ten" finishes and many Podium visits including a GOLD and 2 BRONZE medals in major Junior World Cup competitions! My powerful and aggressive style of paddling makes me instantly recognizable on the water as i relentlessly attact the course,leaving nothing to the imagination! My relocation here to Charlotte and the world class facilities of the USNWC was fueled by my burning desire to have the absolute best training conditions in my preparations for the next 3 Olympiads.
